    Young Football Player Found Dead

MARSPa. - A Mars Area High School student and football player has died unexpectedly, Bob Mayo reported Tuesday on Channel 4 Action News.

Nick Varrenti, 16, was found dead at home Monday morning, according to his father. Preliminary information from the Butler County Coroner's Office indicates that the child suffered genetic coronary disease, the father told Mayo.

The coroner's office said the official cause and manner of death are pending, because results of toxicology and other tests are not ready.

Varrenti's father said he was too upset to conduct an on-camera interview, but told Mayo that his son was "the greatest kid in the world."
"Some days you're the dog... some days you're the hydrant."
