Editor's note: The Orlando Sentinel incorrectly reported the gender and age of this child in earlier versions of this story.

The child had a heart condition, SeaWorld said.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the family in this most difficult time," the park said in a statement.

An Orange County Fire Rescue spokesman said his agency received a call from SeaWorld dispatchers about 2:40 p.m. saying park paramedics were treating the child.

A Fire Rescue crew transported the child to Dr. P. Phillips Hospital. The Orange County Sheriff's Office confirmed the death.

Jim Solomons, a spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff's Office, said the child was from Taunton, Mass.

On the Orlando Sentinel it said this boy was on his Make-a-Wish trip when he died. He had 2 heart transplants. What a heart breaker.

A Final Goodbye To Boy Who Fulfilled Last Wish
7-Year-Old Dies After Trip To SeaWorld

      POSTED: 10:53 am EDT May 27, 2010

BOSTON -- A 7-year-old Taunton boy who died after fulfilling his final wish at SeaWorld last week was laid to rest Thursday.

Lorenzo Galarza spent his final moments last week enjoying a family trip to Florida, made possible with the help of his town and local fire department. Lorenzo had dozens of operations and two heart transplants before his family left for the trip.

Last month, Lorenzo's mother, Heather, was told her son had about three months left to live.

The Taunton fire department made Lorenzo an honorary member and led a fundraising drive to pay for the family's trip.

The Chamberlin Elementary School student was fulfilling his final wish, visiting SeaWorld's Aquatic Water Park when he died on May 20.

Funeral services were held at Saint Joseph's Cemetery in Taunton.

"Although today we physically can't hold you in our arms as we would like, you always and forever will be with us in our hearts and spirit," Lorenzo's cousin, Anthony, said.

"He will always be a special part of my life and those he met. He was a special boy. You met him, you'd see that smile and fall in love forever," Children's Hospital nurse Julisa Burgos said. "I will always remember him and what he taught me -- to smile through all adversity. As I do my every day at work of taking care of children. I will always remember the special boy who taught me through his actions why I became a nurse."

Lorenzo hated the color black, which is why his parents asked everyone to wear bright colors at the funeral.

The family is asking that donations be made in Lorenzo's name to Children's Hospital in Boston.
