  • The Hcma Helps On National Issues!!

I have recieve the following email - and thought I would share it with you!
    ALL GOOD NEWS!

    All --
Thanks to some very helpful last minute phone calls and congressional visits
from friends and colleagues around the country, the Senate LHHS
Appropriations bill was passed by the Senate LHHS Committee with nearly $6
million MORE in federal AED grant program funds than the House of
    Representatives provided!
Special thanks in particular to Butch Gibbs and Don Greenlee from Humeston,
Iowa, who took the time to come to Washington on Monday to personally thank
Senator Tom Harkin (Ranking Member on the Senate LHHS Committee) for
providing the AED to their small town of 600 people THROUGH THE RURAL AED
GRANT PROGRAM. This single device was used to save both men, and would not
have been available without this life-saving grant program.
Below is an excerpt from the report that accompanies the Senate bill.
THERE WILL BE MORE WORK TO DO IN THE COMING MONTHS -- as we must now ensure
that the higher funding level in the Senate bill "wins out" over the lower
House figure in the final compromise bill sent to the President.
