Please as I know this is a very powerful community, offer your much needed prayers for my grandson , born just last night at 2:54 AM. This child has been a miracle in the making and my daughter and her husband had to have a lot of medical help and many prayers to conceive him.
Last night when he was born he had a complete wrap around the neck of the umbilical chord and he had already inhaled meconium as he entered the world ..which is the babies first bowel movement. he did not cry..he only whimpered. The pediatrician says he is presently stable BUT very sick. He is in special care and has O2 on, his respiratory rate is very high. If they can not figure out the problem or he worsens they will send him to a special center. Worcester Medical. They said his chest xray has "fuzzy spots " which could be the meconium or it could be a strep infection. My daughter tested positive for strep and she is allergic to penicillin so they could not give her the standard treatment med or enough early on befor his delivery. Of course the pediatrician mentioned, I understand your mom has a history of severe hypertrophic cardiomyopathy..so we will be looking @ that very closely.
She has not been able to hold him, bond w/ him or even connect the whole thing. She is strong so I think she is holding it all in and together.
I think he will be called Benjamin Thomas...so please, please send many prayers for him.
Thank you in advance.
