            What wonderful news!!!

I know how frightening the unknown can be. A few months ago my daughter was tested for the possibility of cancer. Thank God she is ok.

You and your family are in my prayers. Hopefully you will get good news for New Years, too

Ok, here is the latest.... She went and visited with the specialists yesterday and has decided to go through with the transplant. The marrow being clean means she can be her own donor, so there isn't a chance of rejection.

If she doesn't do this there is a 99% chance of the cancer returning, but they can't say where or when. If she does do it there's only a 60% chance of it coming back.

Please continue to pray that she's strong enough to withstand this treatment and that it works. Thanks.

                        Hi Reenie,
It sounds like your mom is one smart lady. I too would jump at the chance to improve my chances of complete remission by 39%.

Of course surgery is surgery and not a trifling matter, but with an increase in outlook of that magnitude, who could turn it down?

I wish you, your mom, and your whole family an exceptionally fine new year ahead, with health and happiness returning to all.
                        Burt

                              Dear Reenie,

As I am sure you and your family are well aware, the bone marrow transplant process is long and difficult and somewhat dangerous all by itself, but given the choice, I too, would decide what your mother did. I will pray that she weathers this well and that it works!

I will pray that this will bring a very Happy New Year for all of your family.

                              Rhoda

I continue to keep your mom in my prayers and I think she is a very brave and strong woman. I pray that her strength carries her through the procedures she is now facing.

                                My best, Pam
