  • Anyone not on Meds and have ICD and Still run, cycle etc?

Hi, so what I could have is a very mild form of HCM, no enlargement and a very mild inflammation or scar. The cause could also have been a form of myocarditis. It will remain unknown! Regardless experienced vtach and fainting spell when running. Fast forward six months, I have an ICD and on Sotalol 80 mg 2x per day. I have been running about 20 miles a week, which is fine with me. The docs think I will do well and will be weaning me off the beta blockers in a few more months. I would be happy to have that because the beta's make is difficult to exercise sometimes. While I run with my HRM and do more of easy runs these days - that will not change off the beta blockers either! Just wondering if there are other HCM'ers out there who have successfully come of the beta blockers and continue to remain active with your ICD? IF so, would love to hear from you!
