  • Multivitamin supplement + HCM

Hi again, I am thinking to start to use Multivitamin supplement to see if I can feel with more energy, because I am ending the day very tired. Maybe this is normal for some of us with HCM but I would like to try and see if this can help me.

But the question is, do you know about some issue related to use Multiviamin (B12, Vitamin D,E, C, Calcium, Magnesium, etc....) with HCM?

    Thanks

You should have no problems. To keep our CCF staff happy - Stick to major brand name product.

You should already know about any complications with mixing vitamins and medications. The doctor would have instructed you on how to alter your daily diet to not interfer if there is a conflict when you started your medication. There aren't many heart medication with that problem.

When getting a multivitamin get something that is a lot more than the minimum daily value. Vitamin d3 for example 100% DV is enough to stay under ground and prevent severe illness and nothing more. 250% DV or 1000 UI is recommended by many groups. It is kind of fun to research this stuff. I spend 5 dollars a month on multivitamins to get the better ones as the cheap ones never did anything for me. Just one cautionary note. Every once and a while some health nut with more eagerness than brains will end up with a brief stay in the hospital due to overdosing on multivitamins. Read the cautions on the labels and you should be fine.

I don't think there's any risk. Whether it will help or not, I don't think we have any way of knowing.
