    [And so it begins....]

    Author: Robert Hartwell (---.focal2.interaccess.com)

    Hello all,

On Monday October 28, 2002 my wife and I are heading to the Cleveland Clinc for pre-operative testing (ie Cardiac Cath) prior to surgery on November 4, 2002. We will meet with Dr. Lytle on the 30th, and then return home for the next four days, heading back on Sunday November 3.

I have set up a webpage at thestatus.com. The patients name is "hartwell" and the password is "opera-hosted".

Kinda ironic that a person named Hartwell should wind up with heart disease.

    Dear Bob,

Einstein said that "God doesn't play dice with the universe."

Stephen Hawking said that "Not only does god play dice with the universe, sometimes he throws the dice where you can't see them."

Good luck with everything and we'll be checking your "status."

Just got back from Cleveland Clinic after going through Cardiac Cath, Pre-op certification and meeting Dr. Lytle. Everything went extreamly well with no problems found on the cath.

While I was there, I found out that Dr. Lytle is affectionatly known as "The Jedi Master" by many in the cardiac section. After meeting him I feel very confident that my surgery will be in great hands. He was very knowledgeable, personable, and really put my wife and I at ease about the upcoming surgery.

    Four days to go!

    I'm off to Cleveland!

Had a sore throat over the weekend and called CCF. They told me to come in on Monday morning for an evaluation. They moved me from the first slot to the second but did not think that it should be a problem. I will post status as we know it.

    Hi All,

Sore Throat turned into full blown cold. I have been postponed for one week. I won't know the exact date until this weekend. I will post when I know.

Hey Howie! Looks like we will be sharing a room!
