    [obstruction during pregnancy]

I was wondering if anyone has had the experience of their heart becoming obstructive for the 1st time during pregnancy. That happened to me. My HCM specialist said that "it doesn't happen." he can't understand why it happened. He's also not sure if it will return back to the way it was before the pregnancy. My baby is now 8 weeks old. I will have another echo done next month to see if it has changed. If anyone has had a similar experience I would appreciate you sharing it with me. I would also be interested to know if your heart went back to non-obstructive HCM after the pregnancy.

    Thanks, Amy

    Dear Amy,

This is a good question. Hopefully someone here has seen this before. Are you seeing an HCM specialist? If not, it sounds like it is time to do so. Please call the office to get info on referrals. CONGRATS on teh baby!

Amy - I have not seen anything reported on this... I will keep my ears open and let you know if I hear anything.
