    [Back from Boston!]

    Author: Mary Sharp (---.net308.fl.sprint-hsd.net)

I just got back from Boston and what a difference it makes to see a real specialist! Just being told that I can do the things that I want to do made all the difference. The docs were great! They even encouraged me to keep with the medical field that once I got my nursing degree that I could come up there and work for them! Job placement and treatment all at the same place .

The appointment did go well pretty much what I expected. I need to get an ICD they strongly recommended sooner rather than later. They also said that they would strongly prefer that I get it done up there. They also started changing my medicines they said this would be the trial and error phase of all of this. And my episodes of chest pains I still needed to take seriously but they said that I would not have to be admitted unless there was changes on the EKG. It was so nice to hear that they were pleased at how informed I was. My last dr. criticized me for that!

And to top it all off I got to meet Lisa! And I even got an HCMA pin! It was a great experience. Lisa if you guys want to go to Disney you know how to reach me. And your daughter I think her name was Rebecca is a sweet heart.

Well gotta run my best friends wedding is in like two hours!

    Mary S.

    Dear Mary,

Yes, Lisa's daughter is Rebecca. I'm so glad you liked the team there and are on track for an ICD and new meds.

When are you getting the ICD?

I'm on the run this morning, so big hugs and congrats and take care,

    S

Hey all I am home after an adventure this weekend! Yes I did get the chance to see Mary in Boston, that was great! It is so nice to place faces on all these postings and names!

Mary I am so happy that you were happy with your appointment and you have a path to follow for your treatment. Drs Udleson, Link and Maron have really got that HCM Center humming at TUFTS I think we can all expect great things from them! Even the Echo lab has got there eye peeled for those HCM tickers!

Well then the rest of the adventure...

It was off to Salem Ma - -Becca did not believe in witches... so where better to get her in the holleween mood! Now here is the catch I will share with you all - - If you ever go to the Boston area - driving that is - the weekend of Columbus Day, which is also parents viviting day at Yale, Brown and several other Universities in the New England area! GET RESERVATIONS for a hotel room because you will never find one on Rt 95! that is not until your nearly in NYC!

Well we ended up staying in Stanford Ct...then off to NY state for pumpkins and apples this afternoon. Oh yeh it rained all weekend too!

But other than that it was a great weekend!

    Best to all!

    Lisa

Well it looks like I am heading out to Boston again. This time I will be getting the ICD! I'm a bit scared but I think this is the best option for now. Hopefully I will heal quickly so I don't miss too much school and work. Well wish me luck!

Erica, Thank you so very much for the card. I really needed that today. It's been a rough week and my clinical just didn't help today. I had my first code and it was cardiac related. Unfortunatly there was nothing we could do. It just made me realise how fragile life really is.

Matt, I am having the procedure done on November 1st. I am quite a bit nervous.

Thanks to everyone for your support!
