Thanks Reenie - You know I think you have earned the title as Assistant Moderator!

Millie - I spoke to Dr. Towbin, a leading Ped. Cardiologist, he gave me some great ideas. Now I know what I am about to say will create more questions ffrom some of you, however I will start the dialog here...

He Suggested that if the child is having memory issues...it may not be "true HCM" it may be a different condtion that effects other muscles then the heart and a muscle biopsy can tell if the other condtion is present. I am going to do some reading of some book chapters written by Dr. Towbin and write more about it for the site...this is going to take some time.

Millie I know your son has had symptoms that appear to be strainght forward HCM and I am not saying that it is a "wrong" diagnosis, I am suggesting that other matters be ruled out. If they are ruled out then you can evaluate his meds with his docs and see if the problem is there instead.

    Best to all,

    Lisa

This concerns me. Now I'm the one who is confused. I'm not sure if I should tell Jeremy's doctor to lower his dosages because he doesn't complain about palpitations every day like he used to. I'm not sure what to do, but it's starting to affect him academically and I'm getting concerned for his self esteem. The poor little guy has enough stresses in his life! Don't you think?

I just don't know what to do.

You need to see a good ped card. and have him looked at again. I can recommend some people..call the office.
