    [TESTING FOR NEW ICD]

    Dear Reenie, Sarah, and Julie,

Thanks for your responses to my questions about the NIPS testing for the ICD. I did call my doctor's office. His nurse said that this is an important procedure followed by the hospital and the 3 doctors who do the implantations. I had it done today. Although I'm feeling tired from the sedation, the test wasn't bad at all...just a long day of waiting for the test, the x-ray, the doctor...a total of 7 hours spent plus a 2 hour trip each way. But it was really worth it to find out that the leads are in place and the ICD is working properly. Now I can get that off my mind and continue along my merry way with work, family, friends, and all the things that make me happy.

My best wishes to you all,

    Mary

Great! Now you can forget about it and rest easy. Hopefully you won't have to do it again.

    Julie -

Hope your feeling well! NIPS are not often done anymore, yet some docs feel better having done it...cant blame them for wanting to be extra careful... I am glad it is over any you can get back to "normal"...whatever that is

Why arent the NIPS done so often anymore?? Cause I was actually suppose to have one done in March but didnt go. And if I dont need to have it done I'd much rather not
