  • Other surgeries affecting symptoms?

About 2 weeks ago Felix had his endoscopic sinus surgery to open up his sinuses. The pressure was really bad and never going away. Its almost 2 weeks and now he is complaining that he is experiencing HCM symptoms that he had not experienced in a quite a while.
Is it normal that someone that is not that symtomatic will regain symptoms after any type of surgery? What are the experiences of others.

    Re: Other surgeries affecting symptoms?

I am now getting over a sinus infection, and I think that my HCM symptoms have been worse, and are worse when I have something else going on. I think, and this is my own personal opinion, not based on anything else, that when our systems are challenged by something else, it diverts the blood flow, etc. from our hearts to the other problem area, and therefore our hearts feel worse.

Similarly, when I have cramps or other PMS symptoms, my heart also feels worse.

I am interested to hear others opinions here.

I just had arthroscopic knee surgery at the end of last month and up until then was doing quite well. Now, I'm having all kinds of issues! SVT which I never recall having, dizziness (almost passed out behind the wheel), and just plain blah feelings!

So, I guess surgeries can really foul things up.

In my experience, my HCM does have an effect on all health issues. Sometimes, it does prolong recovery periods. Just take it as it comes and you know best when to seek a doctor and when to just chill...
