    [New problem]

    Author: Debbie (---.glen-net.ca)

My husband was diagnosed is March of this year and had an angiogram done recently. Although we learned nothing new from this, we got a call about the routine chest x-ray that was done. He is going for a cat scan because of an opacity in his lung. Could this have anything to do with his HOCM? Has anyone else had a similar experience? Thanks for any info.

    Dear Debbie,

It is very, very unlikely that the lung issue is related to the HCM. I do know that sometimes the testing done with HCM turns up other problems --someone recently disovered a liver cyst from their echo, for example.

How is your husband doing with his HCM? Is he seeing a specialist and are you on the mailing list?

Let us know what the cat scan turns up and good luck (does hubby smoke?)

    take care

    Sarah

I would agree that I do not believe this has anything to do with HCM. Follow up with your doctors for more information. May be nothing major but you really should follow up sooner than later...for peace of mind more than anything.

    Take care!

Thanks for responding. No he doesn't smoke and never has. We are going to the hospital on Sunday for the cat scan and should know more then. I hope they can tell us something then and not make us wait.
