My name is Brian i am 36yrs old and live in England.I have just had a stroke and due to this i was given various test hence the HCM

First can i say thank you for such a wonderful web site. When i was told i was in a state of shock. But due to the HCMA i have found so much more information about my problem, this has been so comforting not only knowing more about it but also there are so many people that have come in contact one way or another with HCM

I have read your forum and found it so interesting .I am lucky i do not need insurance to be tested. Also i have been asked to have my whole family tested 4 sisters,3 brothers, 6 nephews and nieces and my 11 yr old son

This at no cost too me thank god but also due to this site we all know a little more about mine and your condition

    Thank You

    Brian

Brian I am glad you have found the site helpful and welcome you to the message board. Please know that the UK has a wonderful support group for HCM the Cardiomyopathy Association - cardiomyopathy.org

Good luck in the screening process and yes you are correct that is far easier in the health care system you have access to.

    Best wishes,

    Lisa Salberg
