[should my husband and I be tested?]

Hi everyone, this is Aspyns mom here. I have been wondering for a while if my husband and I should be tested for HCM. Aspyn had a metabolic and Mitochondrial Dissfunction that they thought was causing her HCM. Is there a chance that she would have had it regardless of the other conditons? And is there a chance Wayne or I could have it?

I would think it would be a good idea to get checked. It might turn out that you don't have HCM and they were right about the cause, but what is it was genetic? I'm sure you would want to know. My prayers are with you.

    Dear Stacy

It is a very reasonable and smart thing and as long as your doctor agrees, your insurance will pick up the tab for a diagnostic echo to rule out HCM. Better safe than sorry.

    thinking of you,

    Stacy -

YES get screened. If you or your husband do have HCM this gives more information as to what would have been at the root of Aspens problems. ALSO if you screen clear it give more information as to it was "true HCM" or was the heart problem some side effect of a different issue. In either case it gives you knowledge to plan your family and make the choice to have more children.

I KNOW your both great parents, because you did everything for Aspen!

Best wishes (and a big hug!)
