  • Weight Loss ????

Does anyone have any tips for weight loss for those of us with limited exercise capacity?? I'm having a terrible time losing 10lbs. Usually, I it just falls off when I try the least bit and then I really have to work after the first 10, but this weight isn't coming off. I've noticed a big difference in how I feel w/ the extra weight...........HELP...

My wife and I call that first poundage that comes off quickly "low hanging flab".

    Good luck,

I had put on 12 pounds within a few month of my myectomy.
About 8 weeks ago I changed my diet and I have lost the 12 pounds so far.

I call it the M&M Peanut Diet.

I stopped eating breads, cereals or pasta. I do eat pumpernickel bread.
Peanut butter & jelly on pumpernickel is great.
Eggs cooked without butter (usually with tomato & peppers) & dry toast or hot oatmeal for breakfast...
Salads, chicken, meats, fish, fresh fruits & veggies.
I do like Rita’s Italian water ice & have had lots of it lately.

Oh yes, lots of M&M peanuts for a snack.

I am probably a diabetic by now, but I am loosing weight with very little exercise.

        weight loss

After my last child I lost 55 pounds doing Atkins and no exercise, becasue I am lazy. The thing about losing weight by restricting carbs is you have to be totally commited to it. If you follow Atkins strictly it works (my cholesterol even dropped). The problems you hear about are when people dable with it. For Atkins to work your body must learn to burn fat for fuel instead of carbs. People who cheat (even a little) are giving their body the option of burning carbs first and are letting the fat they are eating be stored as fat.
I am pregnant now and have made sure that the carbs I have eaten have been "good carbs" like fruits and whole grains. This pregnancy has been so much healthier and I have honestly felt better than last time. I am a true believer in counting carbs .
