    The local newspaper here in the L.A. Harbor area, "The Daily Breeze", has an article on sudden deaths due to HCM and quotes Ms. Lisa Salberg of the HCMA!

    THANKS! This is great news - this means that this story, originally written for a paper in Indiana, was picked up by a different paper and thereby it will likely show up in other papers as well. It was a good story with a sad story about a death, yet the details about HCM are amoung the best written on HCM in the past 2 years.

    I will call the report and family and let them know that CA has picked up the story!

    Dx age 12 current age 46 and counting!
    lost: 5 family members to HCM (SCD, Stroke, CHF)
    Others diagnosed living with HCM (or gene +) include - daughter, niece, nephew, cousin, sister and many many friends!
    Therapy - ICD (implanted 97, 01, 04 and 11, medication
    Currently not obstructed
    Complications - unnecessary pacemaker and stroke (unrelated to each other)
