    Just to let everyone know my great neice is in the hospital 8 months pregnant and she is the one that has HCM Well she is in ICU in Tulsa Ok in heart failure the baby seems to be fine for now, i would like for everyone to keep her in your thoughts and prayers, she wasn't suposed to get pregnant but when the doctor told her this she was already pregnant, she said this time they are going to tie her tubes after the baby is born and baby is a boy

              Diagnosed at 31.
              Cardiac Arrest 2003, RF Ablation in AZ, no positive result -
              First ICD 2003 - In 2006 lead went bad, abandoned lead, threaded new one & new generator
              Myectomy 5-5-05 at The Cleveland Clinic - Dr. Lever & Dr. Smedira -heart surgeon.
              Currently have Grade 2 Diastolic Dysfunction with pulmonary hypertension & pulmonary edema.
              My brother passed away suddenly at 34 yrs old from HCM.
              2 teenage children, ages 17 and 15.

                Ok just to let everyone know my sister in law called lastnight and said my great neice will possibly get to go home tomorrow on bed rest until the baby is born, they did an Echo on her but are repeating it after the baby is born because there has been an increase in thickness and said it may go down after the baby is born they are concerned about thicknesss of her heart, but keep her in your thought please

                  Dx age 12 current age 46 and counting!
                  lost: 5 family members to HCM (SCD, Stroke, CHF)
                  Others diagnosed living with HCM (or gene +) include - daughter, niece, nephew, cousin, sister and many many friends!
                  Therapy - ICD (implanted 97, 01, 04 and 11, medication
                  Currently not obstructed
                  Complications - unnecessary pacemaker and stroke (unrelated to each other)

                    Shirley - I had an increase in my septal thickness when i was pregnant that went back down after I delivered.
                    Daughter of Father with HCM
                    Diagnosed with HCM 1999.
                    Full term pregnancy - Son born 11/01
                    ICD implanted 2/03; generator replaced 2/2005 and 2/2012
                    Myectomy 8/11/06 - Joe Dearani - Mayo Clinic.
