Hi everyone,
I have some questions...
Okay here is the brief story:
Thursday Jan 20th was a extremely stressful day. I cannot go into the details because my heart freaks out every time I think about it. But it has to do with my 21 year old step-son who is a drug addict (he does not live with us, I won't allow it since I have 2 young children here.)
Thursday night my heart started having these long runs of PVCs. The PVCs would last anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes at a time, then my heart beat would go back to normal for several minutes, then the long runs of PVCs again.
This has been going on for over 4 days now.
I went to the ER Friday night, they did blood work and monitored me for 4 hours, they called my one cardiologist and she said to send me home because there is nothing they could do for me.
I have taken Verapamil and all it does it slow down the PVCs. It does not stop them from happening.
Questions --Has any thing like this ever happened to anyone here? Did it finally stop for good?
I am trying to tell myself that it is going to be okay and that this will stop, I try to relax but when it starts up again, I find it difficult to relax.
I keep thinking that if it was serious, they would have kept me in the hospital, (but then again, I do not have health insurance).
And another question-- Are long runs of PVCs like this called v-tach?
Thank you so much everyone for your help, I really do appreciate it.
Eileen
