  • Drinking Water!

Geeze Lisa, Now my doctors are even starting to sound like you! Drink Drink Drink has been the mantra now. I saw my GP the other day and found out I had a bad kidney infection. Man do they stink. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. I'm on what seems like a daily visit to my doctor to see if I am improving. She said either that or IV meds so I bet you can bet on what I choose.

So she is telling me to drink at least 10 glasses of water each day. My question is since I've had CHF episodes will the excess water aggravate this condition?

    Mary S.

I don't know if it will aggravate CHF, but I'm hoping you feel much better soon. Can you drink apple or cranberry juices too? Sometimes those help flush the system too.

    Husband has HCM.
    3 kids - ages 23, 21, & 19. All presently clear of HCM.

      Mary ,

Hope you feel better soon. I think if you are carefull not to drink many high sodium drinks you should do well. If you can tolerate the water by all means stick with it. Actually once you are more dilluted ; less concentrated fluids in your system, you may even see a better balance occur and the urine will flow and be pale yellow. When this process gets going, I always find personally that when I stick to a the strict regime and increase the fluids as this, I can actually see improvements in my CHF when it is problematic. This will help to rid all those infection toxins and waste products, destroyed cells out of your kidney to help it heal better.

      Good luck and feel better.

I once read that the average human body looses 80 ounces of fluids per day. 15 thru perspiration, 15 thru body waste and 50 thru evaporation. Drink-Up...
