First of all, does anyone know of any good docs/sites in Chicago or NYC?
Second, it's not just the facility, it's the doc; you could end up a CCF or Mayo with a resident treating or operating on you.
Please list names if you can, we are newly diagnosed and are in Chicago and looking for the best place to start ?
Thanks for any help! Barbara R.

      Barbara,
From Chicago you are close(relatively) to Rocheser, MN for Mayo.
If you call the HCM clinic at Mayo for appt. you will be assigned to an HCM specialist doc. You won't be treated by a resident.
Also, typically the Echo Technicians work very closely with the Cardiologists too. Most of the time during your echo, the Dr. comes at least once to take some measurements on his own.
I have had echo's done all over the country, and they typcially are done from 20-30min. But, at Mayo all my echos took any where from 2-2.5hrs.
      Very thorough job...
