Hi all, I have been away for awhile, I hope everyone is doing well. I've missed you all so much.
During the summer I had it out with my cardiologist (the one that refused to send me to see a specialist) so I finally made a switch. I saw my new cardiologist for the first time last week. And without even knowing all my details, insisted I see Dr Wigle in Toronto. Finally!! I probably wont get to see him til spring but atleast I am on the list.
Anyway I have some questions.
My new cardiologist did not do an echo last week but had a copy of one I had done in my home town back in Feb. /04. He said that I had some posterior wall thickness(something like that). This was never mentioned to me before. What exactly does this mean and how important is this specifically?
Also, this same echo never picked up any obstruction. Every echo I have had in 5+ years has always showed obstruction PLUS this new cardio said he could tell I was obstructed just by listening to my heart.
Is it more likely that the obstruction was slight at the time(Feb 04) and simply missed OR that the echo tech(or machine) was at fault. I admit, our services are not quite up to par here. I am wondering if I should not even bother having one done heare again. It makes me question my other family members results as well.
Thanks for any help you all can give....
Best wishes to all,
Take care
Pam
