How do you know when to call your doctor when you have something weird happening? Just had some weird strong forceful heart thumps that I could feel in my throat. Felt flushed . Going to my PCP for an EKG shortly

Re: funky heart thumps
If you feel it was 'significant' call - if it was wierd and not significant tell him/her the next time you see them.
Thats how I make the call. ALWAYS if in doubt - CALL

Re: funky heart thumps
thanks, Lisa. Just got back from the dr. I didnt see my pcp as he was booked solid, but saw another doctor there. She was young and didn't know much about HCM. She said I was her first patient with this and seemed was asking ME a bunch of questions. (i.e. when and how did they find out I had it, family nistory, etc.). She is going to show my doctor the EKG and talk to him about what I was having. Does anyone else get these thumps up to your throat? Kind of hard to explain...it's like it goes from the upper chest to your throat. I plan on calling Boston tomorrow a.m. and mention it\"It is not length of life, but depth of life.\"
