    [Septal Ablation]

    Author: JAN (---.ctaz.com)

    Date: 06-03-02 16:50

Just wanted to let everyone know that my husband had a septal ablation and an ICD put in the end of February. We just got back from his second check up and the news is great. He know longer has a heart murmur and his gradient is at 20. This is a great improvement. He is able to walk and even run without getting winded and his life has changed immensely (and so has mine!)

We are very greatful to the doctors at UCSF and in particular to Dr. Chatterjee and Dr. Michael's who performed the procedures. The staff there was wonderful!

I know it has been on this message board before but you really can't say enough to go to a "specialist". There is such a difference and I truly believe they saved his life along with this message board and of course, many thanks to Lisa!

Congratulations to your husband to have the courage to try this new procedure. I also had a Septal Ablation, with ICD placement done in Chicago three weeks ago. I would like to speak to someone whom has also done this. It is possible I can call him or yourself ? If not, not to worry. I am happy he has seen some improvement. It possible to call you?

    Dear Patricia

Please call the HCMA office at 973-983-7429 and ask Lisa if she can put you in touch with others as well. Lisa also has an ICD and is a great resource.

    How are you doing?

Do you live in Chicago? I'm in Oak Park, but no ICD.

    Sarah

Thanks for the quick response. I live in Wausau WI. I will call Lisa possibly on Wenesday.

I am presentely doing better. I am in Cardiac rehab daily and am monitering my symptoms on a daily basis. In time I may have some good information to offer on Septal Ethanol Ablation. I did answer to HMCA with information. That may have not been the best way to share things. I am still learning how to use your site. Talk to you soon. Thanks Again. pat

Patricia - would you mind sharing with me the name of the Dr. and facility where you had the ablation done? Do you know how much experience they have? I need to find someone with experience in the Midwest to do this for me.

Thanks so much and good luck.
