To all those who visit this message board and share their thoughts, feeling, experiences, fears, accomplishments, hints and lives... I thank you

You each provide a piece of the puzzle; these pieces may have been hidden from others. The magic of the Internet allows us to communicate in a way never before available in society, and we have come to take it for granted already. Each who shares gives a gift to so many.

I do ask something of each of you, words are very powerful; use caution in your postings remembering that we are all just a little bit different.

A medical adviser does not review this message board formally. Therefore sometimes information can be slightly incorrect and requires confirmation through the HCMA directly or with your physician. By no means does this statement suggest this board is inaccurate, it is simply commonsense to be cautious.

I have amazing pride for all those who share their feelings with others and those who hope to teach others from their own experiences, most of them have not been pleasant experiences mind you.

This web site and message board is only the beginning of what the HCMA must do to improve the quality of lives for those with HCM into raise public awareness. So keep talking, keep sharing, and keep learning.

In closing, thank you all for helping make my dream come true.

Lisa, that is such good advice as we all are in different stages of HCM. I have a question and a favor. I am unable to come to the meeting this week. I have just returned from Mayo and I do know that I am in the end stages of HCM as they are now talking transplant. The magic # is 10 and I am at 13 on the O 2 treadmill test. I am very much interested in the speaker that is talking about the end stage of HCM. Is there anyway you could send me a copy of his speech either by snail mail or email. Even though my news is not the greatest right now, I am remaining very up beat as the rest of my body is healthy and they say I will be a good candidate for a transplant when the time comes. I really do not feel too bad and am grateful for all the good days and try to rest on the bad ones. I know you are busy but I would love to have a copy of this if it is possible. Thanks a lot. Midge.

Dear Midge,

We were trying to raise the money for videotaping, but I'm not sure if we got it or not. I'll forward your post to Lisa via e-mail, since it will reach her faster that way.

I'm sorry about your situation. I will pray you get a new heart.

We will make the hand out packets available, which at the least will include my talk and I will attempt to provide a summary of the days events.

This is going to take a week or two after the meeting to get together...UNLESS...someone comes up with funding in the next 24 hours...

then... we will have a video...
