  • Planting Shrubs

Yesterday I purchased 4 3 foot tall junipers and drove home to plant them. I put them out and then went to get a big shovel to dig the holes for them. I finished one hole and then my neighbor appeared. I kept working at it, and after a while I realized that she had appeared because she was concerned that I was over-doing it and might run into trouble.

So I said, "Isn't it fantastic! Last year before my surgery I couldn't have even carried one of these shrubs a couple of feet, but now, this planting isn't a strain for me!" She seemed to relax a bit-----

I've been celebrating my one year anniversary since having my ablation at St. Luke's on 5/29/03. Feeling well and getting a fair amount of exercise. Looking forward to the convention in Morristown and meeting some of you in person.

Wonderful news, liona!!!! Keep up the good work!!
I love to read successful posts like yours. It certainly encourages others to take "the next step".

Unfortunately I can't go to the convention. I used up most of my vacation/PTO and now my daugher had to have emergency surgery tonight. I'll be flying to Pennsylvania on Friday. This was so unexpected.

May God Bless and keep you in his loving hands

      Liona,
Really glad to hear you’re doing so well – and have such fine neighbors. It hit 108 here today, and now at nine PM, it’s still ninety-five. I had a lot of problems even walking, - and then I read about you’re carrying and planting shrubs. Wow.

Reminds me of last week when I saw two town gardeners working there way down the street. Every twenty feet they would stop, one guy would dig a hole, and then the other guy would fill it in. I watched them do this for about two blocks, then went out and asked them what the heck they were doing. They said they were normally a three man team, but the guy who put the trees in the holes was on vacation.

      Esther,
Sorry to hear about your daughter. I hope everything turns out well. When she’s up to it, tell her how nice her mom is.

Liona, just love hearing about success stories about how well people are doing after their surgery.
It should be incentive for those undecided about getting the surgery.
          Good luch in the future.
Every great thing that has ever happened since the beginning of time has started as a single thought in someones mind.
So if you are capable of thought then you are capable of great things
          Good luck and stay well.

            Esther,
Thanks for the kind words. To tell you the truth, a great many people on these boards are very special to me. I don’t know, but maybe having HCM gives people a better perspective of what’s important in life. There sure are a lot of very nice, caring people here. That’s one of the reasons I want people to post their pictures so much. I would love to see what my friends look like.

About your relationship with your daughter – I have two children, and I am amazed at how well they turned out. Our son, (our baby), was out last week-end and we celebrated his 40th birthday. This week-end we’re going to our daughters, and will see our grandchildren again. In just three weeks the twins will get their drivers licenses. Close relationships with your kids are really the best, aren’t they? I do hope your daughter is well again real soon. Take care now,
            Burt

              Burt:

I do enjoy reading your messages especially when you slip in those small jokes that usually makes me laugh kind of loud in my office and of course i do share the joke.

What a team - i wonder what would happen if the first guy was on sick leave.
              I loved it.

                  Shirley 6,
When the first guy is on vacation or sick leave they take to watering the trees. I will not go into explaining just how they accomplish that, but it involves a lot of drinking.
