What would happen if the HCMA disappeared?

The hard truth is, that without adequate funding, the HCMA could not continue to cover the cost of this message board, or the rent on the office, or the telephone bills, or the travel cost to attend conferences, or the expenses relating to the Annual HCMA meeting. Bottom line, the HCMA needs funding to surivive. Those of you who know Lisa, know she HATES asking for money. But the harsh reality is that what the HCMA does cost money.

What can you do to help assure the HCMA continues to be here to support you and your family? You can help support our various fund raising activities. One of the primary ones being the annual charity golf outing.

You don' t have to be wealthy to help us out. Your help can be as simple as soliciting an employer or local business for a prize donation.

Time is running out. We are only a little over a month away from the June 7th golf outing.

For those that have been asking for more specific information on the golf outing sponsorship options, here it goes:

It can be as little as $25 to be on the friends list. Other options include:

1/4 Page ad in the program - $50
    1/2 Page ad - $100
    1/2 hold sponsorship with 1/2 page ad - $150
Full Hole Sponssorhip with full page ad - $275.00
HCMA Patron Level Sponsorship - $500
HCMA Benefactor Level Sponsorship - $1000

If you donate a prize you can receive an ad equivilant to the value of the donated prize.

If you want to golf, the cost is $122 per person.
If you want to join us for dinner the cost is $30 per person.

What kinds of prizes are we looking for? ANYTHING. Examples of prizes from past years have been as large as tickets to Disney World, Autographed Basketballs, Golf Clubs and as small as boxes of golf Tee's. We have had things such as $10 to $25 dollar gift certificates for chain stores (i.e. Wallmart, Home Depot, etc.), DVD's, golf shirts, golf balls, t-shirts, tickets to the local race track; tickets to the National Baseball Hall of Fame; baseball hats, collector level coin sets, etc., etc., etc., etc......

If you have access to small give-away items, it is best if we can get those in quantities of at least 125.

You can ship your donations to the HCMA office at 328 Greenpond Road, Hibernia, NJ 07842.

If you need a sponsor letter to help request a donation from your employer or othe businesses in your area, please give Kelly a call in the office and she can mail you a package. The office number is 973-983-7429.

I guess we would have to throw the question back to you? We are always open to having our membership run charity events at other locations. We have members who have run golf outings, tennis tournaments, and 5K runs to help raise funds for the HCMA.

If you have ideas for a charity event in your area that you would like to organize, please let us know.

5K runs? Now that sounds like a fun way to raise money for HCMA! Maybe I will find some sponsors and do one.. the HCM'r doing a run for the heart..

Re: What would happen if this message board disappeared?

There is a 2K Walk/5K Run being organized in New Jersey on June 27, 2004. The Lyndhurst Police Department is doing a fundraiser for the HCMA in memory of one of their police officers who died of HCM last May. Anyone in the New York/New Jersey Metropolitan area who is interested in helping out or knows of anyone who would like to participate, please call the HCMA office at 973-983-7429 and we would be happy to give you more information.
