    I know both my GP and old cardiologist are aware that my heartrate goes up and down like it does, I remember one of them mentioning it once(a few yrs back) but it has never come up again. I myself don't know if there is a great variation(or what a great variation would be). I will look into it.

    Most people's heart rates increase when they inhale and decrease when they exhale. It is a normal occurence in a majority of people whether they have HCM or not and is called a sinus arrythmia. Sinus arrythmia means a normal variation in heart rate. If your heart has very large variations dependent on your respiratory cycle, this should probably be brought to your doctor's attention, but slight variations are nothing to worry about. Good luck.

    Ok, thank-you to Sarah for bringing this to my attention that 'this' was not 'normal' for hcm. I am adding it to the list of many things to ask my new cardiologist.
    I would like to know if anyone is 'like' me in this regard. When I inhale my heart rate increases, and when I exhale my heartrate decreases. I always thought it was an hcm thing, guess I was wrong.
