  • Kids 6 month Check ups

    Hi everyone,

Krista and Tyler go in for their 6 month checks this week. Please think of us and hope we have good news. Krista had a "heart pain" episode and tachycardia a few weeks ago. I'm hoping her ECHO shows nothing new. Tyler seems to be doing fine. We'll see. I'll let you know.

    Have a wonderful day.

PS Send some warm weather here please!
Michelle - mom to Krista and Tyler both HCM
Krista surgeries: 3/97 myectomy, 2/99 mitral valve replacement
    Tyler surgery: 1/98 myectomy

Good luck on the test reports.I hope all is well. I have a question about the reports. Do you ask for a copy? My kids are clear for now. But should I ask for a keep a copy of the reports? Just thought of this today. We have only had to deal with this for 2 years. Should I start a file or wait till someone tells me something has changed on an ECHO? Sorry to get off the subject. My fingers ran away with me. Have a great day and we are all pulling for your family.

Re: Kids 6 month Check ups

Thanks for all the good thoughts and prayers, they worked. Happy to report nothing new. Krista is going through her puberty growth spurt, so doctor wants to echo her every 6 months to keep a close eye on her heart. She grew 2 inches in the last six months. She is almost as tall as me (which isn't saying much as I'm only 5'2")! Tyler is doing well too. No increase in meds at this time. Keep on doing the same. It was a big relief. The doctor did ask Krista about her heart pain she had and to make sure she stops what she is doing when it comes back. Also tell us about it, don't hide it. Its important to keep track of the symptoms. She understood and told us she would let us know if it happened again. She was given the okay for volleyball in the fall, but a big NO for track. I was grateful because I told her no to track, but the doctors NO helped make it final!

So happy news and a relief for another 6 months. I have enough stress from Nursing School to get through. I think I'm getting an ulcer!
