Re: Progress post transplant
Midge,
Glad to see you were able to steal some doctor's laptop when he wasn't looking and get online to write to us! We've all been thinking about you here, and even though you're a non-HCM'er now, we still expect you to come and hang out with us from time to time
Take care of yourself,
Jim

Re: Progress post transplant
Hi Midge,
Those three months at the Transport House will fly by – in just three years or so (ay least that’s the way it will seem.) You are an intelligent women with an active mind so think of something to fill your time while you’re locked in – and don’t forget to heal. After that you probably will be monitored fairly closely for some time, but you’ll have a full happy life to live. I think that’s absolutely marvelous.

Re: Progress post transplant
Midge, It's great to hear from you. I'm so pleased for you that you have been able to find a spot in the Transplant House, that place is wonderful. Anyone who's never had reason to learn about Ronald McDonald House, Transplant House, etc, have no idea just how much those places mean to a recovering patient. A hotel room just doesn't compare. Take care and keep us posted, Linda

Progress post transplant
Thank you to my wonderful daughter for thinking of you while I was unable to. And thank you members and friends for notes, prayers and thoughts. It has been 11 days with out HCM and the hardest thing for me is to not still be on those HCM meds of course I ahave about double that now but in time that will go down some. I am doing pretty well, other than the anti rejection drugs have attacked my kidneys and that is causing the biggest concern right now. They are on top of it and will control with other drugs etc. So, I am staying in hospitlal a little longer than anticipated. Then i WILL move to the Transplant house and finish up to at least 3 months living there. I will have a care giver while there so between friends and husband I will be taken care of . The place is really awesome Even though the road is not been without a bump or 2 I truly believe with time it will smooth out. My call came sooner thanI had expected I figured 2004 but not so soon. The only donornews I know is it was younger male smallish as I am a small female. I will be writing a huge thank you to the donor network to pass onthe family. I will keep you all up to date. One thing I still have is impatience to get well. So any of you Mayo pt's that are in town in the next 3 months look me up at the Gift of Life Transport House. Thanks again and just because I am no longer HCM you will all be in my thoughts and prayers and will continue to read the board.Tags: None
