Pam, you can always call your cardiologist for the final word, but the dermatologist told my son the same thing last month for his biopsy. Best wishes, Linda

I'd call the cardiologist and ask them. They would know the most.

PS, I'm glad you're getting this taken care of. My father in law had melanoma removed several years ago and is doing really well.

    Newly diagnosed skin cancer

Hi all, I just got back from the demotologists office to get the results of a biopsy. It was called Bowens Disease. From what he said and I have read about it is early cancer a pre- squamous cell form of cancer , confined to the epidermis layer. Having it removed asap will hopefully prevent a turn to squamous cell and possible metastisis. I am scheduled to have a small surgical removal of it next monday. I asked him about pre- med . He said I should not need it as it is considered a surgical sterile procedure. Does this sound ok? I know when i had my last heart cath they did not have me pre-med either as they said the same reason. I just want to know if that sounds right ? Or if i should bother my pcp or Dr. Maron with a phone call? Thank you for help in advance. Pam
