Hello all,
Shirley is still in ICU and will be tonight. The problem is in her Spo2 reading which are too low. Usually 88-92 on 5 liters of O2. Not what they want to see. They are starting her on some medication that I am not even going to try to spell but it starts with a "x" to open up her lungs and get the readings up where they belong. Shirley is in a good mood and doing super with pain control and all other aspects of her recovery. She got out of bed twice today and sat in the recliner for quite awhile. Her color remains good and no signs of problems from the surgery. Her chest tube and arterial line along with her heart monitoring leads have all been removed, leaving only her central line, foley and EKG leads as tethers to the bed. (poor attempt at a joke). Overall good news with just the one negative. Thanks for all the support and well wishes and hopefully she will be able to chat with you all tomorrow sometime.
Take care,
Ken
