has anyone been "cardioverted" back to normal rhythm? or couldn't do this as the heart rate went down to say 50 bpm (i.e. atrial fib)? They were going to do this when I was hospitalized a few days ago but my doctor (my local cardiologist) said that during the night when they were monitoring my heart rate, etc, it went down to 50 while I was still in A-fib

I am not sure why they would say that?? there may very well be a reason, but I am not sure what it would be.
    Have you called NEMC?
