[Non-alcoholic Beer?]

Hello again,
Quick follow-up to my earlier question about alcohol and HCM. What about non-alcoholic beer? I realize it has .5% alcohol, so it is not free of it, but some of them sure do taste close to the original. Just wondering if anyone has heard anything about the difference between this and regular beer in terms of risk to someone with HCM, but not with afib (at least for now.)
Thanks,
Craig

Dear Craig,
Great question. From a medical standpoint, as long as you aren't having a whole six pack in one sitting, and drink some extra water, you are probably going to be ok with a speck of alcohol, but you should give the doctor veto power on this one, just in case.
Personally, I don't like the taste of beer, so I've not gone this route but I expect that a few people will weigh in on this for you.
take care,
Sarah

Craig,
For what it's worth, I was a big time beer fan. Made my own beer and all. I had to all but give up beer (alcohol). And I now drink lots of non-alcohol beer. I don't like pop and milk doesn't go with pizza. I have HCM and A-Fib problems. I do also drink lots ot water too, but the non-beer has never caused me any problems. it's the taste I'm used to now. Enjoy, Steve
PS If your doc. Ok's it of course!
