    Long Winter

    As you may already know its been very cold for a long time here in New England. It makes it hard to cope with the disease process.I,m becomming more symptomatic again, but the good news is I,m going to see my freinds at N.E.M.C. on Feb. 3rd. Hope they have some new treatment for me. You may recall I had surgery last April, the Doctors determined I should have my mitrel valve replaced. After the healing process I was feeling almost little or no chest paine. I,ve always been very short of breath and easily fatigued.This I,ve learned to live with but the chest pain is very difficult to ignore.I,m hoping for some help on tuesday.I,ll try to you all posted.

    Dennis, The cold is taking it's toll here on me in MD! Then when I talk to my brother in Maine, I get even colder, just hearing his stories. Good luck with your checkup, keep us posted. Linda

      Good luck with your appointment on Tuesday and send my regards to the Team at NEMC (ask Jessica about the mice...and see if she has gotten any sleep yet! )

      Dx age 12 current age 46 and counting!
      lost: 5 family members to HCM (SCD, Stroke, CHF)
      Others diagnosed living with HCM (or gene +) include - daughter, niece, nephew, cousin, sister and many many friends!
      Therapy - ICD (implanted 97, 01, 04 and 11, medication
      Currently not obstructed
      Complications - unnecessary pacemaker and stroke (unrelated to each other)

        I am sorry everyone ,but Phil The groundhog saw his shadow and 6 more weeks of winter( Boy am i glad I moved to SC ) watch out for cabin fever Rich
        Allways remember you cannot control the wind!!
        However you can adjust your sails!!

          What a day to go to NEMC. Today is the Pats Championship parade. When they won the Bowl 2 years ago there was 1.2 million people there... they are expecting more this year. Hopefully Dennis was able to get to his appointment on time....
