    Re: hi again

Deniz, It's good to hear from you again. I've been wondering how you are. You might it find it helpful to send a personal message (PM) to Lisa telling her more specific information from your doctors and she may be able to give you some information to help you make your decision about surgery or pacemaker. I know a phone call from Turkey may be difficult for you. Do you have a close family to help support you through this whole thing? Best wishes. Linda

        Re: hi again

surgery OR pacemaker isn't a typical decision. it is easy to confuse a pacemaker and an ICD. they are not the same but some devices are both. usually you need surgery or you don't. and you could need a pacemaker or you don't. they each solve different problems. surgery is not going to fix what the pacemaker fixes, so i'm unclear as to why they are telling you either/or.

i'm assuming that the surgery you speak of is a myectomy. however, there are some ablations that fix rhythm problems that they may be calling a surgery. do you have atrial fibrillation?

if you give us more details, we might be able to provide more information.

        take care,

        s
