    Re: Cold sweats

i only get these when i'm dehydrated. are you getting lots of fluids?

try drinking hot beverages (decaf!!!!) instead of ice water for a few days and see if you can get your insides warmed up. just an idea.

      Re: Cold sweats

Well guys, i called and talked my PCP doctor and he doesn't think it's the meds that i'm on but he said he has had other heart patients complain of the same thing, and he says he thinks it's my heart causing it, it working so hard to maintain things, he said like a termainly ill person will sweat like this because the body will fight til the end to heal itself and that will cause you to sweat i know my mother did but she had cancer, and i was told that also from her doctor, i guess it could happen but i told the doctor i guess everyone is different, because people i've talked to that has this disease says they don't sweat this bad, since i can't come up this any other reason i guess i'm going to have to take his word for it

you may also want to get your blood sugar checked, just as insurance as i think diabetes can cause really bad sweats, too.

but again, everyone with HCM is different.

          Re: Cold sweats

Shirley, I have talked to many people with heart probs who seem to perspire more than usual. It seems to affect many children. It could be a combination of the altered circulation from the heart prob and the body's reaction to heart meds. Not an answer, but maybe a possibility. Anyway, you're not the only one, but the blood sugar is a good thing to check out too. Sarah is right about the cold sweats with that. Linda
