Thank you so much for your thaught''s and pray's for Michael here is what they found Michael did indeed have chronic gallbladder what ever that mean's all i know is that they removed Michael's gall bladder and they also said that Michael has scaring on his liver so does any one know what that mean's? If anyone does please let me know does it mean he can't get transplanted now or just something else happening?
Well Michael made it through surgery great no complication's or anything the only they are worried about right this minute is that Michael has not made any urine in 8 hour's so they have a call into the surgeon.

    Re: Michael Phillips

    Liz,

I am so glad that your son's surgery went OK. Of course I cannot be sure about his exact liver problem, so I think you should talk to the doctor. But, I can tell you that I was also told that I had both liver and pancreas damage from chronic gall bladder problems, but have basically had no problems since (other than diarrhea if I don't eat). Part of the reason is that the liver is the only internal organ that reproduces itself naturally, so if the damage is not severe, it will probably repair all right.

Actually, in my case my pancreas and liver damage led directly to the discovery of my HCM. Months after my gall bladder surgery I had severe, lie-on-the-floor-screaming pain on my left side just below my heart. Since I thought I knew from years of such pain that it was my pancreas, I went to the doc the next day and demanded he retest my pancreas enzymes. He did so, but first hooked me to an ekg and for the first time discovered the abnormalities that only a few weeks later were causing me to faint. Although it was a couple of years before the HCM diagnosis, this is what began the process.

So, I pray that your son's recovery from gall bladder was as calm as mine and that only good things come from this.
