Well i became a great aunt for the 2nd time this year, my niece had a little boy last night, he weighed only 5 pounds 2 ounces, he had breathing problems when he was born, they took him to icu, rather concerned, with all this HOCM in our family, I asked my brother if the dr. knew about Hocm being in our family, he said no, why should i tell them that, we had a long talk needless to say, he said he would call the hospital and let them know, i said it may not be that but it's better to safe than sorry later, my brother said he was not getting tested, i can't make him get tested, but i said why make the baby pay for what you won't do, he has 3 kids all grown now, but never been tested either, i got after my kids all the time, until they got tested, my daughters results come in today, keeping my fingers crossed, my son does not have yet, hopefully he never will, he promised me he would get his kids tested when they get old enough, but the kids doctor needs to be aware of the disease, i know my daughter in law will have the kids tested, just the way she is with them she leaves nothing to chance. well i've rambled on enough you all take care and glad the site is back up Shirley

Congratulations on the new nephew! Yep, keep after the family so that it's listed in their charts as past familial history. You're on the right track. I hope that the little one perks up really fast. What's his name?

thank you jim we are keeping him in our prayers. He comes from a very strong family background, we are all fighters, i guess we have to be with fighting this disease, i know his mother is a fighter, she's small but can sure get her point across if she wants to. You take care and hope you feel better soon Shirley
