  • Pain in right arm?

    Hi,

I have HOCM and recently I have been getting an ache in my right inner arm between the thumb and the bend in my arm. It happens when my pulse rate goes up do to exersion. Does anyone get this, does it sound heart related? I also have a compressed vert in my neck and always have neck pain.

    Re: Pain in right arm?

    Hi Ralph,

I've not experienced this type of symptom but I wouldn't rule it out as a HOCM anomaly. (I never thought that bending over/standing up and my vision blackening out was a symptom until I started seeing a specialist at Cleveland and found out that it was.) Is the pain accompanied by other symptoms as well like shortness of breath, dizziness? Have you checked in with your cardiologist in regards to this?

Let us know what you find out.
    Be well,
    Lynn

Ralph, it is a new symptom and you seem to be able to relate it to exercise. For that reason, it would be smart to mention it to your doctor. Things like the neck problem always add to the puzzle, but it never hurts to be cautious. Keep us posted, Linda

        Linda,

Thank you for your reply. I am having a cardiac MRI next Wednesday to determine if I am a cadidate for a AA and I'll tell the Docs about the pain then.

I'd love to hear if anyone else has had the same or simalar pain or ache before or now.

I would speak to both a cardiologist and your spine specialist about the pain. It is easy for one specialist to simply explain away the issue to the othe specialist... Make sure the specialists are SPEAKING before you may any moves.

          Be well,
          Lisa

            Re: Pain in right arm?

i have been having trouble since the lab techs reajusted the beats per minute on my pacemaker, more feelings of my heart beating faster at times, and having an ache down my left arm, but not the right, i'm also getting very dizzy, and i feel like my body is numb when i get dizzy, i was told they did it to maybe give me a little more energy, the tech told me i may feel lousy for a few day, but should feel a diffence, after that, i think they did it because my primary doctor told me if i'm feeling worse on the meds, then go off of them until i see my new cardio dr. the 30th, so i weened myself off a couple of weeks ago of the toprol xl, the only thing i am concerned about is i found out i'm not being paced on demand but 99% of the time in my ventricles, i was rather upset about that, and this has been going on for about 6 months now, my heart seems to be getting very stiff, and i have also developed septal thinning, i don't know how bad the thinning is, i'm just glad that i'm seeing Dr. Gilligan in Richmond Va. i will be relieved just to get some straight answers for a change, from a dr. that knows what is going on. I hope everyone has a great weekend,
            Shirley
