  • Question on local Cardiologist

Hi All, new to site and hoping I can get some advice

Diagnosed with HOCM around 8 years ago, recently changed care to Dr. Lever at Cleveland Clinic as not happy with local Cardiologist in San Francisco. After visit and round of tests Dr. Lever is recommending myectomy which is scheduled for mid Sept. I feeling very nervous about the upcoming procedure but also holding on to prospect of getting some of my life back.

As I am still living in San Francisco I need to find another local cardiologist, Stanford Medical HCM clinic was recommended but this is also over an hour travel from where I live in the city.
I'm happy to travel there but I understand post surgery I will not be able to drive for some time. My question, what contact would I need to have with local cardiologist initially once travelling back from Cleveland?
Appreciate any advice from anyone who travelled to Cleveland for surgery and what I can expect once I get home. Am I better finding a local cardiologist closer to home?

Apologies if this question has already been answered, I could not find anything in my search

Hi Roger, unfortunately this forum is inactive and will be retired, archived and deleted very soon. Please feel free to call the office, or visit facebook and search for our private support group there. You can find it by searching HYPERTROPHIC CARDIOMYOPATHY (HCM) HCMA

We also have a list of centers on this website and have a newly established COE at UCSF with the Abrahams.
