    [My daughter recently diagnosed]

    Hi everyone,

We have a family history of HCM. My daughter was recently diagnosed and I am curious if there is any advise regarding how to approach her care. We live in Colorado and I would appreciate any recommendation that is available regarding knowledgeable physicians. My daughter is 18 years old. She was being tested AFTER my mother died from HCM, "just so we could rule it out". What a shock. I appreciate this website so much. I found it after my sister had a defibrillator implanted. She is 37. I appreciate all advise that can be provided on what steps to take and how to proceed. I am very interested in any input on the Mayo Clinic.

    Thank you,

    Renee

Mayo Clinic is wonderful, we took our son there , age 14 when we found out he had hcm. they are just great. we saw the chairman of the department of cardiology and electrophysiology...the best of the best. they never rushed us, answered all our questions. I would definitely recommend them.
