Meeting in 2005!

Yes I know this posting seems a little early but I need to get an idea from you all as to who will be interested in this event. Let me explain.
The 3rd International Summit on HCM will be held in Minneapolis MN October 7,8,9 2005. I have spoken to the organizers who are happy to add October 5, 2005 as a "patients day". Here is what we are working on.
The day before the Summit kicks off for the doctors we will arrange a patients only meeting with Key speakers from the conference. In addition I think the organizers will offer special pricing to patients for the Summit (Oct 7-9th).
If people are interested in this type of a meeting I will need to organize it now and I will need to have an idea of how many would be interested in attending.
So here is the question ...Would you be interested in attending a meeting like this?

You should point out how this is fundamentially different from the annual meeting in that the focus is on doctors talking to other doctors and reporting their findings and sharing ideas and treatment protocols, etc etc.

But I'll be there. I was at the last one and while a good chunk of it went over my head, it was really interesting.

Sarah - That is not the point of this meeting - October 5th will be very much like the annual NJ meeting - it will be the Patients Day... Oct. 6-8 will be a "medical conference".

I'm aware of the difference, but I was obliquely trying to say that since you don't explain what the Summit _is_ in this post, anyone who isn't familiar with it may not understand what you are trying to say in terms of a "patient" day versus a "conference" day. You see what I mean?

Seems like this would be a logical venue for the '05 HCMA annual meeting. Why have two separate gatherings in the same year?

I am not sure what the HCMA annual meeting plans are in NJ for 2005. I have planned 2004 it will be June 4, 5 and 6th at the Westin again...with some new twists...more on that later!

I would be most interested in attempting to attend the patient day as proposed in 2005. I think the more proactive and knowledgeable we can be, the better it is for us. Since there is a medical conference following the proposed meeting, we will have many top specialists available as well as we can stay informed concerning the most recent research involving HCM.

Hi Lisa,
Sorry I haven't been too active lately but I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row before my Myectomy on June 26th at CCF.
What a tremendous job you and your staff did in New Jersey. I'm sorry I could not stay for dinner but the meeting was tremendous.
I would be very interested in attending both the meeting and conference in 2005. Please keep me posted.
I'll try to e-mail you with how my progress in Cleveland is going and wish anyone interested to send good positive thoughts to me and my doctors on the 26th.......

I must say that this sounds like a great place to host a "patients day" and even possibly hold the annual HCMA meeting at the same time. I would think that there would be value to all parties involved by doing this.

I would be very interested in making the trip north for a Patient's Day. Please keep us posted!
