Beta-blockers are very good drugs for HCM patients. They soften and slow the heart beat. They reduce palpitations, too. The side effects are few. The side effects are usually being tired and a lack of concentration. They do not cause other diseases. However, if you have asthma, you can't take a beta-blocker. In very rare cases, beta-blockers make it hard to breathe. This goes away when you stop taking them.

The names you gave are the Turkish brand names. We don't use those names in the US, so I don't know what drugs you are on. Please post the generic names if you can.

I don't think you have to worry about getting other diseases from your medication, unless you take amiodarone. Amiodarone can cause kidney, liver, lung, and eye damage. It is the only one that is very strong like that.

    take care,

The medicines that can affect other parts of the body are usually followed closely with blood tests to be sure they are not causing damage to other body systems. Deniz, I hope you are having good results with your medicines. Ask your doctor about possible problems with the meds and ask how he will check for problems if they are a possibility for you. Linda
