Having just been diagnosed(two years), I was wondering about likely problems gaining insurance, mortgages etc and should I inform my current insurance companies?
Also, My two children have been screened, they are clear of the disease,
however should they (when older) declare that there is history of heart disease in the family even though the are ok???
P.S. Great site It makes me humble since I'm symptom free x

JIm...this is the fast version as I am pressed for time now.
RE your kids it is well advised to get them Life coverage BEFORE any diagnosis...get them a policy now and when they are 30 they will thank you (should they become diagnosed) It is the better safe then sorry thought process....NOT that they are going to NEED the life ins. just from an financial factor..it is MUCH cheaper..
RE MOrtage I would not worry in that area... For you MAXIMIZE your employer health and life plan...if self empl or not employed get group coverage if you can as then in the USA it will be very hard to claim "Pre Ex. condition" as you simply need to be insured and move from plan to plan without droppping coverage for 63 days...more details to follow...
    I have to run...
