I don't know what I would do without this organization! I would not have known about the nitro being bad without this list. I am sure there are so much more to learn from this group. I saw my regular cardiologist today and he is so wonderful. He is the only one I have found around here that seems to know didly about this disease. He knew the nitro was bad. He shook his head about the doctors at the ER and the one I saw on duty that nite up in my room. I am so glad I came home rather than get tortured over there with any other dangerous things.
My doctor is very glad I am going to see Dr. Shah. He knows of him and thinks he is excellent and is thrilled that I am going to get an evaluation by him. None of the normal medicines etc have worked for me here. They make me feel worse and more symptomatic than better. I saw a message from another lady here on the forum saying she liked her cardiologist and didn't want to see a specialist at this time. I highly recommend that she see the specialist. Even tho our doctors may have knowledge of this disease, they just don't know the ins and outs. I think a good one, like mine, is happy to see you get an evaluation from a specialist and is not feeling bad or put down because you seek more answers than they can give you. I thank God for my cardiologist because he doesn't have such a big ego that he minds that I am seeing Dr. Shah and I also thank God that he appears to have quite a bit of knowledge about my hocm too. Too bad they couldn't get him on the phone when I was in the ER!
