POTS is an form of dysautonimia - it is NOT HCM it is a disease that can mimic HCM - HOWEVER you should not have LVH with POTS. Get a second opinion.

I definitely have HCM, with a measurement of septal wall at 1.8 (I'm unsure of the other measurement). My question is how does POTS impact the HCM (if it all)?

tests
Dear Jimmy,
You may certainly have POTS, and you can search about it on google.com, but wether you have HCM or not depends on your echo results.
What is your septal wall measurement and your left ventricular wall? That is how you diagnose HCM.
Take care,
S

POTS and HCMA
I just received a copy of a tilt table test and was told I have POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome). They did the test because of several passing out incidents. When I asked the cardiologist if this had anything to do with HCMA, she said no. Somehow, this doesn't seem right-does anybody know if this is true? I'm still trying to get to the Cleveland Clinic, but fighting insurance is hard. Any ionfo on POTS would be helpful.
