  • support groups in my area

I tried searching on the internet for local HCM support groups..(i.e. weekly meetings ) in the Worcester, MA area but could not locate anything. Would anyone have any information on this? I could only find a CHF support group in Boston which is too far away. thanks

    thin on the ground

    Dear Cyn,

Personally, I've been dealing with HCM for my whole life (34 years) and I've never heard of an HCM support group besides the HCMA.

However, you should talk to Lisa and try and get all the MA area HCMers to get together.

    take care,

    S

      Cynthia -
      Funny you should ask!
This year at the HCMA meeting one topic for a workshop will be "CHAPTERS>>>how to set up local HCMA chapters"
At this time we do not have any "local" chapters but by years end we hope to. I anyone is interested in volunteering to be a "Chapter Chair person or Co-chairperson" email me.

There is a support meeting about three times a year at NEMC for those of us who have ICDs. It's helpful though at an awkward time if you live out of the city (6PM). I think a support group in Massachusetts would be terrific, and I'm only a half hour from Holden in Groton.
