    Heart Screening Event Feb. 15th in Phx - Postponed - April 5

    As of early last week (Feb. 4th) we made the decision to postpone our Feb. 15th heart screening in Phoenix, AZ at Central High School.

    New date, Saturday, April 5th 12-5 pm

    Our new date will allow more doctors to help out at our event. As all of you know...we couldn't do it without the doctors!

    For you HCMA people in the sunny state of Arizona, if you have a favorite cardiologist you would like me to approach for the event. Please feel free to email me ([email protected] or a private message on the message board) and I can send a nice letter and packet of info to solicite their help.

    The Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Day Fair is still on for Saturday, Feb. 15th at Central High School, 4525 N. Central Ave. (access from 7th Street) on the football field. If you have kids that like games, clowns, heart safe rides, food, FREE Everything, stop by between 1-5 pm.

    The Anthony Bates Foundation will be there running a fun game and displaying a booth to share information about HCMA and our next heart screening event, Sat. April 5, at Central High School.

    Again I apologize for any inconvenience. This is only our 4th heart screening event and before too long we will be experts. Well, Lisa thinks we are experts already, so we can go with that!

    I am glad to see you have a new date YEH!
    We need to chat about some docs... I may have a few more by then.... ACC is the end of March.

    Dx age 12 current age 46 and counting!
    lost: 5 family members to HCM (SCD, Stroke, CHF)
    Others diagnosed living with HCM (or gene +) include - daughter, niece, nephew, cousin, sister and many many friends!
    Therapy - ICD (implanted 97, 01, 04 and 11, medication
    Currently not obstructed
    Complications - unnecessary pacemaker and stroke (unrelated to each other)
